"The journey of “Civil Engineering forum, PCIU” started with an exotic picnic at Kaptai
 



The students and faculty members of Department of Civil Engineering recently have given a flamboyant start to the journey of the “Civil Engineering forum, PCIU” with an exotic day out at Kaptai on the auspicious occasion of “ Independence Day, 2017” . The picnic organized by the faculty members of the fellow department, volunteered by the forum member’s started with a visit to a picnic spot named “Prashanti”, located in Kaptai, Chittagong. Students from every batch from both Day and Evening program including International students participated in this event and celebrated this occasion with day long enjoyment and boat ride in the Kaptai lake. Later at the afternoon, the lunch session ended with an eventful cultural program and prize giving ceremony. The day long picnic came to an end with a photo session at the helipad of Zibtoli Cantonment area, Kaptai.


























 
 







"Journalism Students visit the Department of Environment
 


Students of Journalism and Media Studies visited Chittagong divisional office of the Department of Environment. Department of Environment is an important source for environment journalists. Students supervised by Ms. Sharifa Umme Shirina, Lecturer of the department, inspected the office with a view to gathering knowledge about the activities and responsibilities of Department of Environment. During the inspection, in response to the students’ query, Mr. Md. Azadur Rahman Mallik, Director General of the Department of Environment, Chittagong, highlighted the activities, achievements and action plan of the organization. He said, supervising environmental issues, conducting mobile court and filing case on environment court are the main tasks of the Department of Environment. Students were highly motivated and got acquaintance with the activities of the Department of Environment through this visit. It will make them enthusiastic to environment journalism. In 1977, Environment Pollution Control Board with 16 members headed by a Member of the Planning Commission and Environment Pollution Control Cell headed by a Director with staff complement of 26 was established. This was followed in 1977 by the establishment of the Environment Pollution Control Project, in 1985 by the establishment of the Department Pollution Control and finally, in 1989 by the restructured and renamed the Department of Environment. The activities are overseen by a Director General. The Department discharges its responsibilities through a head office and six Divisional offices located in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Bogra, Barisal and Sylhet.

"A seminar on “Career Prospects for Law Graduates” successfully organized by Department of Law
 



A seminar on “Career Prospects for Law Graduates” has been successfully organized by Department of Law on April 1, 2017 at PCIU Auditorium. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University, Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, while inaugurating the program as chief guest, focused on the importance of study for building a shining career.

The key-note speaker of the seminar Mr. Saeed Ahsan Khalid, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, University of Chittagong, made a lively, highly impressive and interactive presentation on multi-dimensional attractive avenues for law students to build their career. He convincingly showed that our life without law is impossible and hence, career prospects for law graduates are beggar description. The program ended with the concluding speech and vote of thanks by Chairman of the department Jalal Uddin, who chaired the seminar.


The program was held with active participation of law students. Md. Mizanul Hoque, Lecturer of the department anchored the seminar. Among others, Mr. Quazi Mohammed Mohsin, Senior Judicial Magistrate, Rangamati and visiting faculty; Mr. Minhazul Islam, the Protection Associate, UNHCR and faculty members of the department Md. Samiul Alam, Afroza Perveen and Munshi Nigar Amin were present in the program.


























 
 




"Workshop on Advanced Mobile Game Development and Mobile Game Graphics Design at PCIU
organized by Department of CSE
 



To transform young generation into high skilled manpower and strengthen Bangladesh’s footprint in the global gaming market and graphics designing, Department of CSE of Port City International University, has launched a 10 days long workshop entitled “Advanced Mobile Game Development and Mobile Game Graphics Design” from the 29.03.2017 to 07.04.2017 under the supervision of ICT Ministry, Bangladesh. The inauguration program of the workshop was held on 29th March, 2017 at CSE Lab with the presence of honorable Vice Chancellor of PCIU Prof. Dr.MD. Nural Anwar, Controller of Examination Md. Salim Hossain, all faculty members and students of Dept. of CSE.

Mrs. Fujaila Shahnaj, Chairman of department of CSE, PCIU presided over and started the inauguration program with an enthusiastic welcome speech. She thanked the trainer of ICT Ministry for taking such good initiatives and inspired the students to participate this workshop. This training will help them to build their career and develop their skills. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Vice Chancellor of Port City International University. In inauguration speech he wished for a fruitful training session for the students


Md Emdadul Haque, CEO of Team Reboot shared the goal of this training. Through this workshop, 35 students of PCIU will be trained up in mobile game development and mobile game graphics design. All faculties and students of CSE were present in this program.

"A study tour to “Sheikh Hasina Water Treatment Plant” organized by Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU
 


Students of Department of Civil Engineering (Batch-7, Evening) of Port City International University recently visited the “Sheikh Hasina Water Treatment Plant” on March 20, 2017 along with several faculty members of that department. This water treatment plant which is an ongoing project of Chittagong WASA, financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), was constructed with an area of over 35 acres of land on the bank of Karnafuli River at Pomra area under Rangunia upazila, about 45 kilometers far away from Chittagong city will be completed on January, 2022 . This 4492 crore budgeted water treatment plant, consisting 505 km pipeline, basically consists of two function elements; Intake unit and Water Treatment Plant unit which has a capacity of around 143 million litres per day. The objective of this visit was to gather practical knowledge regarding water treatment and supply projects, indeed an important section of Environmental engineering which is a major branch of Civil Engineering. This day long visit created a positive impression among the students and they look forward to utilizing this practical experience in their career as Civil Engineers in not too distant future.

"TECH FEST 2K17 organized by department of EEE”
 


The Department of EEE of Port City International University successfully arranged Tech Fest 2K17 at PCIU campus. The fest took place on 10th February, 2017. The students from EEE department (Day and Evening) participated in three categories (poster presentation, Project, Robo-race) and they were supervised by faculty members of EEE department. The program started on sharp 3 p.m. Honorable Founder and President of Port City International University gave the introduction speech and Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University inaugurated Tech Fest 2K17.

On Poster and Project section, the students presented their posters and the projects of different topics for example Power system, Solar, Traffic system, communication system, hexa-copter. Top three groups from poster presentation and project got the prize. After project and poster presentation, the most exciting event (Robo-race) started. Top two groups from Robo-race got the prize. The faculty members hope that from this kind of program students get inspired and they also can do innovative work for the development of our country and the acquired practical knowledge of the students will make their understanding of the courses better.

Department of Fashion Design and Technology participated on “KTC present’s Fashion Carnival-2017” which held on 05-10th, January’2017 at Khulshi Town Center.There were six different themes ,named by- Chittagong culture, Wedding, Family & Kids, Black & White, Life Style (Western, Trendy) and Mayan.Students of PCIU were presented these themes, they showed all own designed dresses. They are respectively Tasnia(BFT 4), Shaown(BFT6), Nishat & Anonna(BFT8) & Faria (BFT 9).

"Surveying Campaign-2017’ of Civil Engineering Department ”
 


To get the practical knowledge about surveying, a 10 day long ‘Surveying Campaign-2017’ (18th – 27th January) is organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU for 60 students of Spring’ 2017 trimester under the supervision of Engr. Md. Abu Yusuf ,Chairman of Civil Engineering Department along with other faculty members. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Anwar inaugurated the campaign on 18th January 2017. Through this campaign, students are learning about the measurement and mapping of surrounding environment using mathematics, specialized techniques like Traverse surveying, Plane table surveying, Chain surveying, Leveling & Contouring, measuring height & distance, House setting, Curve setting and also having knowledge about the use of different surveying equipment such as Theodolite, Level machine, Engineering Chain, Plane Table etc. By attending this surveying campaign they will able to prepare maps, plots, topography, and boundaries used in the design, planning, and construction of any type of structure.

The Department of EEE in Port City International University recently arranged an industrial tour to BSRM (Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills) factory situated at Faujdarhat. The tour took place on 10th January, 2017. The students from EEE-7 Batch (Day) went to the tour and they were supervised by the faculty members of EEE department. The students and faculties started their journey on sharp 9 a.m. and reached the destination by 10 a.m. They visited electrical and mechanical sections of the plant.

"Exceptional Flaunt by Department of Fashion Design & Technology ”
 


Department of Fashion Design & Technology organized an exceptional two-day program focusing on winter with a Discussion Session, Showing Fashion Parade, Documentary and Movie Presentation on 14th and 15th December, 2016 at PCIU Auditorium. The discussion session was held on the 1st day of the program, on “Winter and Contemporary Fashion Trends in Bangladesh”. In this discussion Vice President of Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Vice President of Designers Forum, Chittagong; owner of Doll’s House renowned Fashion Designer Ivy Hasan presented as a speaker. There was another speaker named Shahina Parvin Paru, Senior Lecturer of Shanto Marium University of Creative Technology. Professor Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, V.C. of PCIU and Professor Engineer Mafzal Ahmed, Dean of Science and Engineering Faculty were also present. Fashion Designer Ivy Hasan inspired the students to create more dimensional winter fashion by using fabric of our country like hand loom, jamdani etc. in her speech. She also showed her innovation “Poncho” to students for turning away them in using country’s fabric. Speaker Shahina Parvin Paru discussed about the R.M.G. sector beside winter fashion. After that, “Making-of the Fall-Winter 2016_17- Haute Couture CHANEL Collection”, “Fall-Winter 2014-15- Ready-to-Wear shows”and “Women's Fall-Winter- 2016-17” were shown by projector among the students to develop their knowledge and idea about contemporary winter fashion. On the 2nd day of the program, 3 documentaries about 3 legendary fashion designers named “LIFE OF A STAR- COCO CHANEL DESIGNER”, “The Works - Alexander McQueen - Cutting Up Rough”, “Christian Dior The Man Behind the Myth” were shown. On the same day a movie was shown about fashion named “Once Upon A Time” by Karl Lagerfeld -CHANEL Collection. After the program, students were charmed. This will help them to go forward in future. The whole program was supervised by Chairman of the dept. Tamima Sultana and supported by Lecturer Fatema Jannat.

Honorable Board of Trustees attended the victory day rally which was lead by Honorable Vice Chancellor , Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar along with Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering , Registrar, Controller of Exams, Proctor, Department Chairmen, Faculty Members, Student Welfare Advisor and Executives & Staffs of the university. The program started with hoisting of the national flag on the melodious tune of the national anthem at the campus at 6.30 am , then the rally laid the flower wreath at 7.30 am at the Saheed Minar.













 




"Journalism students visit community radio Sagor Giri station ”
 


Students of journalism and Media studies dept. visited radio Sagor Giri and Human Resource Development Centre of YPSA on 30th November, 2016. Radio Sagor Giri is a community radio located at Sitakunda that is conducted by a nonprofit development organization, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA). A team of 6th and 7th batch students visited the organization as a part of their fieldwork of Development Communication course. YPSA is a social development organization that aims at building a poverty free society where everyone can fulfill basic needs with assurance. United Nations declared 1989-90 as the ‘Year of Youth’ and 1985 as ‘International Youth Year’. As a result, YPSA launched its journey on May 20, 1985 with a view to making youth socially conscious and motivating them to participate development activities. It also provides credit to poor people in order to involve them sustainable social development. Students visited its Human Resource Development Centre and community radio Sagor Giri in order to pertain knowledge about its contribution to the development of Bangladesh. Radio Sagor Giri broadcasts programs on family planning, treatment, sanitation, education, rights of women and children, entertainment and so on. YPSA is working to raise awareness among the residents of Sitakunda community through radio Sagor Giri. Journalism students have got the scope of being accountant with social service through the fieldwork. It has inspired them for serving the society as well as country through journalism.













 




"Fieldwork at Centre for Disable Concern by Journalism department ”
 


Students of journalism have completed a fieldwork at Centre for Disable Concern (CDC) on 7th December, 2016 with a view to gathering information about its development activities. CDC is a private social, voluntary and non political organization. It works for the rights of disable and deprived people. It was established by late Selim Nazrul, a famous sports journalist, columnist and social worker. He started CDC in 2001 under the Social Welfare ministry of Bangladesh. It has been working for ten years for the development of disable people in Chittagong.
The activities of CDC are vocational training, employment, therapeutic service, awareness campaign, tailoring and embroidery, maternal and child health, producing assistive device for disable people. It is also works to implement the ‘Protection of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2013 ‘. Students visited CDC in order to acquire knowledge about its activities to the development of disable people of Bangladesh.
Journalism students have got the scope of being accountant with voluntary service through the fieldwork. It has inspired them for serving the society as well as country through journalism .






 




"Photography Exhibition by Journalism Department ”
 


Department of Journalism and Media Studies of the Port City International University organized an eye catching three-day long ‘Photography Exhibition’ with a slogan ‘Enlarge Your Eyes’ at university premises on 12-14 December, 2016. The event exhibited selected photographs of the students of third, fourth and fifth batches of journalism department. A total of 100 plus photographs from 15 photographers have been selected for the exhibition. Professor Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, inaugurated the exhibition. He said ‘journalism department has gone one more step ahead through organizing such an excellent program. I wish its creative and pleasant journey.’ Among others, Professor Engineer Mafzal Ahmed, Dean, faculty of Science and Engineering, Registrar, Exam Controller, Proctor, Chairmen of different departments, teachers and students were also present at the event. Appreciating the student’s creativity they said students would be inspired through this exhibition. The exhibition showcased photographs on different themes-Victory Fair of Liberation War, Sunset, Disaster, Natural Beauty of Bangladesh, Historical Places, Heritage, Pollution, Life Struggle etc.

"Journalism students’ fieldwork at Bidyananda Foundation”
 


Students of Journalism and Media Studies of PCIU completed their fieldwork at Bidyananda Foundation on 24th November, 2016. Bidyananda is a non-profit organization that is working for disseminating knowledge among deprived street children in Dhaka, Chittagong, Narayanganj, Rajbari and Cox’s Bazar. Their motto is ‘Read, Play and Learn’. As a part of academic field work of Development Communication course supervised by Dilruba Akter, lecturer, of the department, students were interested to know about an innovative organization who is contributing for the educational development of Bangladesh. So they visited Chittagong branch of the foundation. Kishore Kumar, enterpreneour of the organization, started Bidyananda with the cooperation and encouragement of his sister Shipra Das in December 22, 2013. Their objective is to build a society where there will be no discrimination between rich and poor class people in acquiring knowledge. Through the enthusiastic fieldwork students came to know about their voluntary initiatives such as teaching deprived children in an ecstatic environment, providing educational materials at free cost, serving meal at one taka, cooperating students to continue higher studies and so on. Students have highly motivated by the fieldwork and shown their willingness to serve country like Bidyananda and play journalistic role as responsible future leader.

Civil Engineering students of PCIU visited Muhuri Irrigation Project
 


 Students of Department of Civil Engineering (Batch-6, Evening) of Port City International University recently visited Muhuri Irrigation Project on November 17, 2016 accompanied by the Hon’ble Chairman, Md Abu Yusuf, Asst. Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU and several other faculty members of that department. The Muhuri Irrigation project which is situated in Feni is one of the most important irrigation projects of Bangladesh and depends on the water of three rivers Feni, Muhuri and Kalidas Pahalia. The students also visited a sluice gate consisting 40 gates which has been built to provide water to Feni Sadar, Chagalnaiya, Porshuram, Fulgazi, Shonagazi and few area of Mirshorai sub-division of Chittagong and to reduce the possibility of Flood during the rainy season. The study tour ended with the visit to 7 Mohamaya Dam which is located in Mirsharai, Chittagong. The enthusiastic participation of all the students made the tour more effective and they also think that this trip will prove to be immensely useful for developing better understanding about civil engineering works in their upcoming days.

Law Department observed “Constitution Day” through Rally & Discussion
 


 PCIU Law Department observed “Constitution Day (4th November)” through Rally and Discussion at its premises. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University, Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, while inaugurating the program as chief guest, focused on the lessons of Constitution Day specially the compliance of academic rules and regulations. Presiding over the program, Adv. Jalal Uddin, the Chairman of Department of Law, highlighted the historical background and significance of the Constitution Day. The program was held with active participation of law students. Md. Mizanul Hoque, Lecturer of the department anchored the seminar. Among others, Mr. Md. Salim Hossain, the Controller of Examination ; Dr. Asif Mahbub Karim, the Proctor and Chairman of Department of Business Administration; Barrister Afroza Akther, visiting faculty; and other faculty members of the department Md. Samiul Alam, Afroza Perveen and Munshi Nigar Amin were present in the program.
 












 









"Seminar on Communication Techniques on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN)”
 


A seminar entitled “Communication Techniques on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN)” was organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the university auditorium on November 02, 2016. Dr. A.K.M. Muzahidul Islam, Senior Lecturer at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) was the key-note speaker of the seminar. The Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Vice Chancellor of Port City International University started the seminar with a floral reception of the key note speaker and gave his inauguration speech. Then the key-note speaker Dr. A.K.M. Muzahidul Islam shared his valuable speech on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN).

He enlightened students about wireless sensor, clustering method, routing and simulation techniques. He also encouraged students to have IEEE membership for global connection with modern technologies and researches. A memento crest was handed over to the key-note speaker by the honorable chief guest. Mrs. Fujaila Shahnaj, Chairman of dept of CSE concluded the seminar by thanking all our honorable guests. Dean of faculty of Science and Engineering Prof. Eng. Mafzal Ahmed, Registrar of Port City International University Mr. Obaydur Rahman, Proctor and chairman of Business Administration Dr Asif Mahbub Karim, faculty members and all students of the dept. of CSE were present in the seminar.

 A seminar on “The Election System of USA and Bangladesh: A Constitutional and Empirical Evaluation” was organized by Department of Law on 20th October, 2016 at PCIU Auditorium. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University, Prof. Dr. Nural Anwar inaugurated the seminar. Mr. Nur-a- Alam, the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Chittagong was the key-note speaker of the seminar. He said that election is the basis of democracy. “Our constitution gave the people right of selecting their representative by exercising their voting right but this right is exercised in different ways in USA & Bangladesh because of different constitutional setup. In Bangladesh, we see open voting election but in USA both open voting system and ended voting system is followed”, he added. He also highlighted the drawbacks of both systems with special reference to application of convention. The seminar session was held with active participation of law students. Adv. Jalal Uddin, the Chairman of Department of Law presided over by and Md. Mizanul Hoque, Lecturer of the department anchored the seminar. Among others, Prof. Engr. Moot Court Competition 2016"
 


 Dept. of Law, Port City International University has participated the 2nd Barrister Sayed Ishtiaq Ahmed Memorial Moot Court Competition 2016 organized by Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) on 24/09/2016 held in the auditorium of Dept. of Law, University of Chittagong. A PCIU Mooting team consisting of 5 members led by Advocate Md Samiul Alam, lecturer of the Dept. of Law, PCIU has participated the competition. Total six (6) teams including three (3) from Chittagong University, two (2) from Premier University participated the event. CU teams reached the final and they bagged Champion. Dr. Abdullah Al Faruque, Professor & Dean, Faculty of Law and Jashim Ali Chowdhury, Assistant Professor of Dept. of Law, University of Chittagong, the judges of the Moot Court Competition and the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) representatives have highly appreciated the performance of the Mooting team of Port City International University. As a chief guest Dr. Abdullah Al Faruque, Professor & Dean of Dept. of Law, University of Chittagong, said that such Moot Court Competition would help to create skillful lawyers and it would also help to ensure justice for all. It also helps to enrich the legal knowledge of mooters. He also added that he was really happy by seeing the performance from all mooters. The 2nd Barrister Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Memorial Moot Court Competition 2016 came to an end with the distribution of the awards and closing speech of Dr. Abdullah Al Faruque, Professor & Dean of Dept. of Law, University of Chittagong.

 Department of Journalism and Media Studies of PCIU visited the `Dainik Azadi’ on 22th September, 2016 on the occasion of 57th anniversary of the `Dainik Azadi’ and the death anniversary of Engineer Al-Haj Muhammad Abdul Khaleque, founder of Dainik Azadi. The inspection, supervised by Chairman Jewel Das, lecturer, Dilruba Akter and Sharifa Umma Shirina of Journalism dept., was organized in order to achieve practical knowledge about the activities of print media. Wahid Malek, managing director of Dainik Azadi, greeted us warmly. Journalism dept. also conveyed floral reception to the `Azadi’ family. Sakhawat Hossain Monzu, columnist of Azadi, delivered a valuable speech to the students on the history and heritage both of Dainik Azadi and Kohinur Press. Wahid Malek said, `Nothing is impossible.
 












 









The longest journey of Azadi and its popularity can able continued smoothly due to our hard work and the demand of readers for Azadi’. A. H. M. Moynul Alam Badal, office manager of Dainik Azadi, informed the students concisely about newspaper publication related activities- printing press, news and editing desk, preparing plate, page make-up etc and showed the students all of the instruments of Azadi press. At the end of our visit, Azadi family presented us the copy of its first publication which was published from the independent Bangladesh at first. Students were highly encouraged to the journalistic career through this educational tour.

"Students of Journalism visited Chittagong Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (CWASA)”
 


Department of Students of Journalism and Media Studied visited the public relations (PR) division of Chittagong Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (CWASA) on August 8, 2016. The objectives of the visit are to equip the students with the techniques of public relations.Kazi Nurzahan, public relations officer of CWAS apprised the students of the organogram of public relations department, important role of public relations officer in public services of CWASA and accelerates the promotional campaign of the organization. She also said ‘A public relations officer has to work in diversified areas and for this she has to be up to date’. Students were enthusiastic about this inspection.











Journalism and Media Studies department are optimistic that the experience form this visit will spark interest on the students to keep themselves familiar with public relations arena.

The thesis presentation of Summer 2016 of Department of Civil Engineering was held on 6th August, 2016. 25 students from Civil-2 evening batch presented their thesis presentation in front of honorable Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar; Prof. Dr. Sudip K. Pal, Coordinator of CE dept.; Assistant Prof. Md.Abu Yusuf,Chairman of CE dept;Prof. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed, Dean, faculty of Science and Engineering and other faculty members of Civil Engineering department. Students from CE department presented their research work on various advanced topics such as: Rain water harvesting, solid waste management, water quality assessment of karnaphuli river etc.


 

 























"Seminar on “IoT Opportunities in Industrial Automation Sector of Bangladesh” held on PCIU ”
 


A seminar on “IoT ( Internet of Things) Opportunities in Industrial Automation Sector of Bangladesh” was held at PCIU campus on 6th instant. The resource person and key speaker of the program was Dr. Kallol Das, currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Twente in Netherlands. The chief guest was the honorable VC of PCIU, Dr. Nurul Anwar and the special guest was Dr. Delowar Hossain, Professor ,head of the department of ETE, CUET and Coordinator of EEE department PCIU. The event was presided over by the chairman of the department of EEE in PCIU, Ms. Nahid Nasrin.


 

 































The key speaker highlighted the concept of IoT and then elaborated it in the context of industrial automation sector. He went on further to illustrate how this technology can bring about a change even in the developing countries like Bangladesh.At the end of the seminar, there was a question-answer session. The students, even some of the faculty members asked questions mixed with enthusiasm. Towards the end, he was awarded a crest on behalf of PCIU from the honorable VC sir.

The faculty members of EEE department of PCIU are optimistic that the experience from this seminar will spark interest on the students to keep themselves up to date with modern technologies.























































"Industrial Tour of The Department of EEE to GEM Plant”
 


The Department of EEE in Port City International University recently arranged an industrial tour to GEM (General Electric Manufacturing) plant. The tour took place on 6th August, 2016. The students from EEE-5 and 6 Batch (Day) went to the tour and they were supervised by all the faculty members of EEE department The students and faculties started their journey on sharp 8 a.m. and reached the destination by 8:30 a.m. They visited electrical and mechanical sections of the plant. On electrical section, the students came to know about the physical function of different parts of a transformer. The experience on mechanical section was a












bit different as they learnt a great deal about the mechanical construction of core and outer shell of transformers and generators. After the visit was over, students had an official photo session with the faculty members. Then they started for the university campus at 11:30 a.m. and reached the campus at around 12 p.m. Students were enthusiastic about this short industrial. The faculty members hope that the acquired practical knowledge of the students on this tour will make their understanding of the courses better.

Mr. Debases Nandy, in his speech , highlighted the proactive instructions in building up career in the banking sector. In Bangaldesh, there are tremendous employment opportunities in banking sector .He also told that development of banking sector depends on socio-economic conditions of a country.With this seminar, students have come to know supportive instructions leading to explore the employment opportunities in the banking sectors with skills, efficiency, creativity and innovation. Department of CSE organized an exciting seminar titled “Skillset Development & Career Opportunities” on August 2, 2016 at Auditorium of PCIU. It was a part of Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of 10 Minute School- digital education platform of mobile operator, Robi Axiata Ltd. The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Nayan Kumar Nath, Lecturer of Port City International University. Mr. Ashraf, Regional Manager, Ctg, Robi Axiata Ltd. was the special guest. He inspired students to be sincere about improving their skill for career development and encouraged them to engage themselves in social responsibilities. Mr. Ayman Sadiq, Founder and CEO of 10 Minute School, was the key note speaker. He discussed about the purpose, importance and application of the project. He hopes that these sessions across the country will have equal access to quality education. Through the session, the students were engaged in learning through quizzes, tests, making power point, video and engaging Q&A session on career planning. Mrs. Fujaila Shahnaj, Chairman of department of CSE, PCIU presided over the seminar. Students from other universities also attended the seminar. They acquired knowledge about skill development and were highly inspired by the session. Faculties of CSE and students of this department were present in this seminar.

He apprised the students of the organogram of public relations department, important role of public relations officer in public services of CCC like city beautification, waste management. In the meantime, emphasizing the great potentials in public relations profession, he said ‘A public relations officer can play vital role in public service. But he should be honest and responsible’. Department of Civil Engineering of Port City International University organized a Seminar on “Subsoil Investigation and Bearing Capacity of Foundation: A Practical Approach” on 23rd July, 2016. The purpose of the seminar was to inform the students regarding the importance of the information on the soil exposed at the ground surface is very valuable for a sound structure and sound foundation. The Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering, Assistant Prof. Md Abu Yusuf presided over the seminar. Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nural Anwar was present as Chief Guest in the seminar. Lieutenant Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed, P.Eng, Chief Engineer, Chittagong City Corporation was the key speaker of the seminar. Through his speech students got the opportunity to know the significance of subsoil investigation techniques, soil characterization, bearing capacity of foundation as well as the analysis of bearing capacity equations. He said,‘Site investigation influences the selection and design of an appropriate structural form for the proposed building. It is a process which should continue on an iterative basis throughout the design and construction phases’. Among other members Prof. Dr. Sudip K. Pal, Coordinator of CEN dept., Prof. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed, Dean, faculty of Science and Engineering, faculty members and students from different batches of the Department of Civil Engineering were present in the seminar. "PCIU Announced Budget of TK. 39,83,60,800 for 2016-2017 "
 


Port City International University announced a budget of TK. 39,83,60,800 for the fiscal year of 2016-2017 on 27 June, 2016 by giving special emphasis on education, research, laboratory, library and infrastructure development sectors. The highest allocation of Tk. 22,80,10,000 was given to education, student scholarship, faculty development, research and infrastructural development in the budget. This expenditure will be met from the university income and donation from the board of trustees. Mr. Ahasanul Huque Rizon, Director of Finance, presented the budget in the budget meeting of Finance Committee held in the Board Room of the university campus.This MoA details a collaborative plan comprising the opportunity of publication in the high ranked first track, indexed journals, creating a base for getting scope in PhD admission of PCIU faculties/staffs, having the chance for being a co-organizer in the arrangement of International Conferences and participation of PCIU faculties/staff in such global conferences. These opportunities will enhance the faculty development and global networking of PCIU leading to build up PCIU- into a “world’s class university”.
The honorable Founder, President and Chairman of the university Mr. A K M Enamul Hoque Shameem has extended his heartiest thanks to all concerned for a time befitting modern idea related budget for giving priority to education, student scholarship, faculty development, research and infrastructural development. on “Industrial Automation for Beginners” "
 


6th June, 2016: The faculty members of the EEE department of Port City International University were invited to a training program arranged on “Industrial Automation for Beginners” by Kyoto Engineering & Automation Ltd. (KEAL) in Niketon, Gulshan, Dhaka. The event took place on 5th instant.. The faculty members participated in the program enthusiastically.The training program spanned from 9:10 a.m. in the morning to 5:00 p.m. in the evening. Basic concepts on industrial automation components and PLC ladder programming were the basic highlights of this event. The Ministry of Food & Sugar Industry of Bangladesh and BGMEA University also attended in the previous training programs and workshops of KEAL. PCIU EEE faculty members believe that this training program was indeed very helpful to have a peek on how automation system works in an industrial environment. The participants are hopeful to attend the next program (Industrial Automation for Intermediate Level) in the near future

To enhance the academic activities of Port City International University (PCIU), Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University Professor Dr. Md. Nural Anwar is going to the USA. During the month long visit Honourable VC will be visiting several universities of Kansas City and New York. In his visit to the universities he will discuss several academic matters like academic collaboration, credit transfer, student – teacher exchange program etc. Honourable VC will go to the USA on May 09,2016 and will return on June 11,2016. .
 












"PCIU EEE Robotics Team Participated in “The Robolution” Held at MIST Campus"
 


May 2, 2016: Since the inauguration of robotics club at PCIU (Port City International University), enthusiastic students had been waiting for an opportunity to showcase their expertise in the respected fields. Finally, they got an opportunity to display the continuous honing of their skills in robotics and embedded systems by participating in the robotics competition named “The Robolution”, held at the campus of MIST (Military Institute of Science & Technology) situated at Mirpur, Dhaka. The competition took place on 30th April, 2016 .
There were participants from different universities across the country, ranging from BUET, CUET, KUET, SUST, MIST to the institutions like IUT, AUST, BUBT, Leading University etc. The competition comprised of four different sections – robo-fight, robo-race, project show and poster presentation. PCIU team participated in all the sections except the project show. The team consisted of 19 students in total and it was supervised by two lecturers of EEE department in PCIU, Mr. Md. Mehedi Farhad and Mr. Md. Mamunur Rahman.
The chief guest of the program was Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal who urged the participants to grow more interest for science and research in an inspiring speech. The members of PCIU team were very excited to be a part of this contest and they now believe this experience will encourage them to be ready for tougher challenges in the future.

 









"Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Port City International University and Australian Academy of Business Leadership"
 


Port City International University has signed a MoA with Australian Academy of Business Leadership (AABL) of Sydney on April 5, 2016 and received the status of life member. AABL is a podium dedicated to provide research and training to the future academician and it is a gateway for international recognition of academic arena.This MoA details a collaborative plan comprising the opportunity of publication in the high ranked first track, indexed journals, creating a base for getting scope in PhD admission of PCIU faculties/staffs, having the chance for being a co-organizer in the arrangement of International Conferences and participation of PCIU faculties/staff in such global conferences. These opportunities will enhance the faculty development and global networking of PCIU leading to build up PCIU- into a “world’s class university”.
The strategic cooperation via this MoA will increase the capacity for collaborating in teaching and research activity offering tangible benefits to staffs, faculties and students. As PCIU declared the year 2016 as the year of Academic Development, so keeping that in view this MoA will act as a catalyst in faculty development. "Industrial tour to Modunaghat Water Treatment Plant "
 


Due to the high demand of drinking water and pure water is not always available CWASA is progressing with an idea named Chittagong Water Supply Improvement and Sanitation Project (CWSISP) to produce maximum amount of pure water from surface sources. The department of civil engineering of Port City International University had a great chance to visit this ongoing project at Modunaghat with a bunch of students accompanied by the faculty members. Through this educational visit students got significant and useful information regarding the installation of two booster plant, one with a 90 million litre per day (MLD) capacity, as well as the installation of a supply and distribution pipeline.
 The trip proved to be immensely useful for our students as they learnt small and significant insights about surface water treatment plant.

"GLORY OF THE ELIZABETHANS"
 


An exquisite and eye catching seminar and poster presentation titled Glory of the Elizabethans was organized by the Department of English, Port City International University for the students of English Department in a befitting manner on the 19th March,2016 in hall room. The program was arranged as a course work for the students of Spring 2016.The chief guest of the event was Professor Dr.Md Nural Anwar, Honorable Vice Chancellor of the university and special guests were Professor Dr. Jahangir Bin Sarwar, Department of English ,University of Chittagong, and Associate Professor Mainul Hasan Chowdhury, Department of English, University of Chittagong and coordinator of English Department ,Port City International University. The chief guest Professor Dr.Md Nural Anwar urged the students to be creative in their activities. Dr.Jahangir Bin Sarwar delivered his speech on the prosperity and advancement of England during the Elizabethan period and the significance of Humanism in the Renaissance period. Mainul Hasan Chowdhury spoke on the importance of the Elizabethan dramatic works in English contemporary society. A S M Iftekarul Azam, Chairman of Department of English, presided over the seminar and poster display. He offered vote of thanks to the meticulous management committee and the inquisitive participants for making the event a success and mentioned the Department of English as a family. Ms Rayhana Fathema Chowdhury , Senior Lecturer, Department of English, also inspired the presenters and participants, and thanked for their proactive efforts and team spirit.
After the discussion, a magnificent poster display by the students on the poets ,playwrights, and their works of the Elizabethan period was arranged .Then William Shakespeare’s famous comedy named A Midsummer Night’s Dream was staged by the students of the department. Ms Rayhana Fathema Chowdhury was the Director of the drama.
Honorable Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering Prof .Eng .Mafzal Ahmed, registrar Mr. Obaydur Rahman, Controller of Exams Mr. Md. Salim Hossain, Chairman and students of different departments were also present in the seminar.

 

"PCIU Students of Journalism visited the Samakal and Channel 24 "
 


Students of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies of Port City International University visited the Samakal and the Channel 24 Chittagong bureau office on March 03, 2016. As a part of academic activities, the visit was organized to give the students practical knowledge on print and broadcast media. A total of 21 students under the supervision of Mr. Jewel Das, Chairman, Dept. of Journalism and Media Studies and Ms. Dilruba Akter, Lecturer of the department, participated in the visit. Students gathered a constructive knowledge about different divisions including reporting, editorial desk and page make up division while they visiting the Samakal burueu office. In a discussion with students, Mr. Sarwar Suman, Bureau Chief, Chittagong Bureau of the Samakal, exchanged his experiences of journalistic career. He said the students that if you want to take journalism as career, you have to be devoted to it. Besides, he inspired students to read books including daily newspapers.
 Meanwhile, Students of journalism visited Channel 24 Chittagong station where Mr. Kamal Parvez, Regional Head, Chittagong bureau of Channel 24, conveyed the students about the techniques of broadcast, video editing, script writing, and sound system. Moreover, students were encouraged enjoying live telecast of the bulletin of 5:30 pm of Channel 24.
Mr. Jewel Das, Chairman of the department, said the experiences of both visits would be helpful one for the students in their professional life. In future, the department will continue more enthusiastic initiatives to broaden students’ knowledge.

The Digital library of PCIU has been inaugurated on 27/01/2016. This addition will enhance students’ scope to get explored into the world of knowledge in a vast scale. Honorable VC Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar inaugurated the Digital Library. In his speech he emphasized on library oriented study and encouraged the students to use the most of it. He informed that through this digital library students will be able to have access to the libraries of world renowned universities and research institutes. "Surveying Campaign of Civil Engineering Department, PCIU"
 


To equip students for a career as a professional engineer and as a professional surveyor a 10 days long surveying campaign (20th – 30th January) is organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU for 43 students of Spring 2016 trimester. The campaign is supervised by the Chairman, Md. Abu Yusuf along with other faculty members. It is inaugurated by the honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Anwar. Through this campaign students are learning about the measurement and mapping of surrounding environment using mathematics, specialized techniques like Traverse surveying, Plane table surveying, Chain surveying, Leveling & Contouring, measuring height & distance, House setting, Curve setting and also having knowledge about the use of different surveying equipments such as Theodolite, Level machine, Engineering Chain, Plane Table etc. By attending this surveying campaign they will able to prepare maps, plots, topography, and boundaries used in the design, planning, and construction of any type of structure.
 










"Workshop: Industrial Automation with PLC on 16.01.2016"
 


The EEE department of Port City International University had arranged a workshop on “Industrial Automation with PLC”, which program was supported by Powermerit Limited Bangladesh. In this program, Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, the honorable vice chancellor, and Dr. Quazi Delwar Hossain, the coordinator of EEE department, and Mr. Hafizur Rahman, Managing Director ,Powermerit Ltd were present and delivered their commendable speeches. The objective of this program was mainly to disseminate the information about different aspects of PLC program and its divergent applications in the various engineering sectors. The student of EEE and other departments of this university got plenty of information and knowledge about PLC and Automation, which would be highly needed when they enter their professional life in future. Moreover, an abundant amount of information about research areas adopting PLC in the whole world had been properly discussed in this program, which would be significantly beneficial to the students to develop their research interests and become a successful and adroit engineer.

“Dept. of Law organized seminar on “Constitutional History of the World and Bangladesh”
 


Department of Law of Port City International University organized Seminar on Constitutional History of the world & Bangladesh A seminar on “Constitutional History of the World and Bangladesh: A Comparative Study” is organized by the Department of Law on 17th January,2016 in PCIU Auditorium. Honorable Vice Chancellor of PCIU Mr. Prof. Dr. Nurul Anwar inaugurated the seminar. Prashanta Bhushan Barua, Advisor to PCIU for Quality Assurance and Head of Laws of European College of Law, UK was the key speaker of the seminar. He said that constitution is the mother law from which all laws get their validity. “The Magna Carta of 1215 was the first written constitution of the world and it is the pole star of constitutions of all the democratic countries”, he added. After the  seminar a mooting session was held on “Rule of Law” with active participation of all the students. After that PCIU Mooting Society was formed which is one of the greatest achievements for the Department of Law. Mr. Md Samiul Alam Lecturer Dept. of Law anchored the seminar and mooting session. “Observation of Victory Day at Port City International University”
 


Victory Day - 2015 of Bangladesh has been celebrated at Port City International University with utmost respect and dignity. For observing this day, day long different programs have been held. To commemorate this auspicious day Cultural, Sports and Debate Forums organized different activities started from 26th November. The prize giving ceremony and cultural program was held at university auditorium on 8th December. The cultural program consisting patriotic songs, drama about liberation war, poem recitation, and ramp walk to uphold national culture performed by the university students. The prizes were distributed among the winners of sports and debate competition after the cultural program. The message of Victory Day from AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, honorable founder, President and Chairman was also conveyed to the audience.  
The Chief Guest of the program Mr. Zahir Ahammed, honorable Founder, Vice President & Vice Chairman of the university paid the tribute to the martyrs his speech. Special guest of the program Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Vice chancellor of the university in his speech encouraged new generation for building the nation in the light of libration war. Mr. Obaydur Rahman, Registrar, in his welcome speech inspired the new generation to know the authentic history of the glorious liberation war. Prof. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, presided over the program. Mr. Md. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University (PCIU), Professor Dr. Nural Anwar An exquisite and eye catching seminar and poster presentation titled Tribute to the Romantics was organized by the Department of English, Port City International University for the students of English Department in a befitting manner on 3rd December,2015 in hall room. Special guests of the event were Professor Dr. Jahangir Bin Sarwar, Department of English ,University of Chittagong and Associate Professor Mainul Hasan Chowdhury, Department of English, University of Chittagong. Dr. Jahangir Bin Sarwar delivered his speech on the literary works of the Romantic poets and their contribution in English Literature. Mainul Hasan Chowdhury spoke on the influence of the Romantic poets in English contemporary society. A S M Iftekarul Azam, Chairman of Department of English, presided over the seminar and poster display. He offered vote of thanks to the meticulous management committee and the inquisitive participants for making the event a success and mentioned the Department of English as a family. Ms Rayhana Fathema Chowdhury ,Lecturer, Department of English, also inspired the presenters and participants, and thanked for their proactive efforts and team spirit.

Education Professor Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, honorable Vice Chancellor of Port City International University (PCIU), returned home from India after attending prestigious ‘THE’ BRICS and Emerging Economies Universities Summit-2015’ took place at O P Zindal Global University, NCR, Delhi. Academicians and Vice Chancellor of 82 universities throughout the world participated in the summit which was jointly organized by Times Higher Education (THE), a world leading ranking organization, and O P Zindal Global University. Speakers of the three day long summit emphasized on the necessity of providing quality education and research to establish a world class university. Port City International University, the only university from Bangladesh, got the opportunity to participate in the summit where His Excellency Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the honorable President of India, inaugurated the prestigious summit. PCIU has involved in the global network of higher education through participation in the summit.







 
 










“Industrial Visit to KDS Group (Garments Division) by the Students of Textile Engineering Department”
 


An industrial visit to KDS Garments by the students of Textile Engineering Department of Port City International University held on December 5, 2015. Competition-2015”.
The visit gave the students a clear perception about the practical garment manufacturing process, quality control system and the involvement of other technologies to Bangladesh RMG sector. Mr. Prashant Mithare, the General Manager of the plant, addressed the students about the production process and quality assurance system of the plant. He also quenched the thirst of students by an interactive question answering session.


A Total of 90 students by the supervision Prof. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering along with faculty members of the Department participated the visit.





 
 












“Journalism Students of PCIU” visited Public Relations Division of KDS group and CVASU
 


Students of first and second batch of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies of Port City International University visited the public relations (PR) division of KDS group and Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) on December 01, 2015. The objectives of the visit are to equip the students with the techniques of public relations. Through the visit at these two renowned organizations students of journalism department learned how a public relations officer (PRO) plays positive role to communicate with the people related to his/her organization and how PRO mitigates the internal problems of an organization. Students also learned the corporate social responsibilities of an organization through conversation with the responsible personnel of these organizations. In this regard, the Department of Journalism and Media Studies of Port City International University encourages its students through theoretical and practical education to make the required practitioners who will be capable to practice in the professional life. Students participated in this visit hope that this experience of visit at these organizations will increase their demand in future job market.
 



SEMINAR ON "LEGAL AID AND ADR: A WAY TO JUSTICE" ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF LAW"
 


A seminar on "Legal Aid and ADR: A Way To Justice" was organized by the Department of Law of Port City International University at the university auditorium on December 01, 2015. The key-note speaker of the seminar Mr. Mozahidur Rahman, Sr. Asst. Judge and District Legal Aid Officer, Chittagong said, “The people will enjoy the benefit of justice, only when legal aid services and ADR system become effective and successful. The role of law is very important in building a better society as law is nothing but social engineering.” He advised the law students to create legal awareness among the mass people of the society about the state legal aid services and ADR system to ensure equitable justice.

The seminar was presided over by Ms. Tasrina Noor, Chairman, Department of Law and inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Prof. Engr. Mafzal Ahmed.

“Victory Day Sports Competition-2015”
 


To celebrate the victory day Port City International University Sports Forum organized “Victory Day Sports Competition-2015”. The ten days long competition includes both indoor and outdoor games consisting Carom, Chess, Ludu and Cricket. Not only the students, but also the faculty members, executives and office staff will participate in the competition. This competition will end on December 5, 2015 and a prize giving ceremony will held to distribute prizes among the winners on 8th December. Honorable Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar inaugurated the event on 26th November, 2015 with great enthusiasm by releasing balloons and cutting ribbon. Mr. Nur-Us-Shafa Mazumder Lecturer of Textile Engineering Department and also the Coordinator of Sports Forum is supervising the entire program with all other members of Port City International University Sports Forum. Honorable Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering Prof. Engr. Dummy TV News Producing Program Held at PCIU
an Initiative of Department of Journalism and Media Studies.  


A dummy television news presentation program was organized at the Broadcast Studio of Media Lab of Port City International University on 11 November, 2015. The program was organized by the Department of Journalism and Media Studies of the University. This event was designed to equip students for giving practical knowledge on broadcast news production. Students also learned every aspect of news programming- both in front of and behind the camera. They sat on the news presentation chair as anchor, covered on-camera interviews, learned the techniques of Piece to Camera (PTC), and grab video cameras. The daylong event also included the core techniques of news presentation, pronunciation, presentation skills and interview process. As a visitor of the program, Mrs. Rawshan Akther, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication and Journalism of the University of Chittagong, inspired the students by delivering speech on career development in broadcast journalism. She added this instructive program would be helpful for the students. Mr. Jewel Das, Chairman, Dept. of Journalism and Media Studies of Port City International University, conducted the segment of core techniques of broadcast news production process. The interview, pronunciation, and presentation segment was supervised by Ms. Dilruba Akter, Lecturer of the department.After completing the event students expressed their jovial feelings. They said it was a great experience. We conceived a lot from the beneficial program.





Industrial Visit to Baizid Steel Industries  

The Civil Engineering Department of Port City International University organized a daylong industrial tour to Baizid Steel mill with a group of 60 students along with faculty members. The visit developed a clear perception on the technology and various department of Baizid Steel through which this industry has become one of the leading manufacturers of deformed bar in Bangladesh. The Company’s assistant manager Md. Ismail Hossain explained full cycle of steel production process to the students emphasizing the role and importance of each and every department including new technology TEMPCORE Process in making MS (mild steel) Rod.
He also explained the benefits of this latest technology entered in Bangladesh. Students also got the opportunity to see the production of QST (Quenched and Self Tempered) 500+ Bar which is first in Bangladesh. After finishing the tour one of the students said, “Witnessing the manufacturing process from our own eyes is an unforgettable experience for us”.











              General Electric Manufacturing Company Bangladesh Visited by the students of Department of EEE
                                        

The Department of EEE of Port City International University organized an industrial tour at General Electric Manufacturing Company Bangladesh on November 21, 2015. Technical experts of General Electric showed the students different procedures of transformer manufacturing and its fundamental construction processes. Thus the students acquired practical knowledge on it. The tour has geared up the students for achieving technical excellence beside classroom theoretical knowledge. It will enhance their ability to work in the practical field.

30 students participated in the industrial tour under the supervision of the Chairman of Department of EEE, Nahid Nasrin along with other faculty members. The university authority and the Department of EEE have expressed their gratitude to the Director and Chief Engineer of General Electric Manufacturing Company Bangladesh for their proactive cooperation and assistance.

On 17th November, 2015, Business Forum , Department of Business Administration, of Port City International University organized a workshop on Leadership for Business in the Millennium” for the students of Department of Business Administration.
The key resource person for the seminar was Mr. Asif Mahbub Karim, Associate Professor, Proctor and Chairman, Department of Business Administration of Port City International University. The workshop highlighted the importance of leadership, ways to become good leaders, several inspirational leadership videos and changing the attitude of the participant to a positive framework of mind of leading in the millennium. The students immensely participated, gave their views, spoke about the challenges they face. leadership based games among the students which they enjoyed immensely as team building part.The workshop was duly attended by the faculty members of Department of Business Administration of Port City International University and the entire program was anchored and volunteered by the students of the 3rd batch of the BBA Program. On 17th October, 2015, Department of Business Administration, of Port City International University organized a seminar on Leadership for Career Building and Revenue for Better Bangladesh for the students of Department of Business Administration. The key resource person for the seminar was Mr. Md. Bazlul Kabir Bhuiyan, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Taxes Zone-2, Chittagong. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Md. Obaydur Rahman, Honorable Registrar of Port City International University.Mr. Bazlul Kabir Bhuiyan, in his inspirational speech, enlightened students about the importance of leadership, choosing right career and job, and provided guidelines on making their way through the corporate ladder. He also shared his experiences from his previous and current job Also the seminar highlighted how the students can contribute in future to nation building as honorable tax payer of Bangladesh. A total of 400 students participated in the seminar.
