Journalism department of PCIU visits BTV Chittagong Center

Faculties and students of Journalism and Media Studies department of Port City International University (PCIU) visited Bangladesh Television, Chittagong Center for acquiring practical knowledge about broadcast process on 4th December; 2017. A team of 40 students participated at the study trip under the supervision of the chairman Mr. Jewel Das, lecturer Dilruba Akter and lecturer Sharifa Umma Shirina of the department. Manoj Sengupta, General Manager of BTV Chittagong centre welcomed faculties and students. Nazmun Nahar, sub- assistant engineer and Nikhil Krishno Mondol, TV technician showed master control room, production control room, news and video editing panel, sound system, TV studio, teleprompter, make up room etc to the students and described about their working process briefly.

They explained the students about the techniques of video and sound editing, news presentation and telecast of news practically. Mr. Main Uddin, Executive Producer (News) said ‘Regional news and cultural program of Chittagong get more priority as it is a regional center of Bangladesh Television’. He also emphasized on the prospective career in electronic journalism. Students were highly motivated through that educative study trip.
