Library Rules & Regulations

 
  1. Library members must bear library cards while in the library.
  2. Handing over of the library card is absolutely prohibited.
  3. Folders, files, personal books and all kinds of bags are not allowed in the library.
  4. Library members are entitled to issue 02 (two) different books at a time for ten days. On expiry of due date TK. 10/- only will be charged per day for each issue.
  5. Library remains open from 8:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. except holidays. Students must return issued books on due date. If the due date is on holiday(s), after holiday(s) the first day of University opening may be considered as the due date. If any student's borrower card is held up due to non-payment of due fine, he/she is not allowed to issue any book(s) till the payment of the fine amount in account section.
  6. Silence must be maintained in the reading room.
  7. Library members must write their ID. No. and sign in the respective columns of issuing book cards.
  8. No food is allowed except fresh drinking water in the library.
  9. In case of loss of the library card it can be reissued on payment of TK. 100/- only for a new one. If borrower's card loses its usability, a duplicate card may be issued for one time without any cost, subject to deposit of old one. But more than one time to reissue each duplicate card, the card holders will have to pay TK. 100/- as a renewal fee.
  10. In case of losing any book of the library, a member must replace the book by a new one or pay three times of the market price of the book along with the delay fine.
  11. Reference materials are for library use only, not for issue. Newspaper should be read on paper stand. Any information of newspaper may be photocopied not to be cut.
  12. Library members are advised to keep their bags in the pigeon hole (bag counter) against a token, keeping valuable belongings like cell phone, money, ornaments etc. with themselves. Library authority will not be responsible for any of such materials and no complaint will be accepted regarding the matter. In case of token lost, a student will have to pay TK. 100/- as fine.
  13. A student is allowed to keep his / her bag in pigeon hole (bag counter) maximum twice in a day for the purpose of library use only.
  14. Library members shall be punished with the replacement of a new copy for making any damage, page cutting or marking in the book.
  15. If a library book is found with a student outside the library without being issued, the student will be treated as miscreant. In such malpractice one of the following penalties will be imposed on the concerned student:
    1. Library membership will be held up for one/ more trimester or semester.
    2. Tk. 5000 to be realized as fine.
    3. Examination for one trimester or semester will be held up.
    4. Result will remain withheld until fine amount is realized.
