Journalism department visited National Parliament of Bangladesh
Department of Journalism & Media Studies of Port City International University visited National Parliament House of Bangladesh on 29th June, 2019 as a part of practical assignment of the course ‘Public Affairs Reporting’ conducted by Ms. Dilruba Akter, Chairman of the dept. 14 students of 9th batch and four faculties accomplished the inspection to observe parliament session. The delegates of Journalism dept. observed a budget session of 11th parliament on that day where members of parliament discussed about Finance Bill 2019. After the sessions, the delegates visited parliament house, library and research section, presidential plaza and oath room. Mr. Mohammad Arif, Assistant Secretary (Additional Duty), Interparliamentary Affairs and Security (IPA) wings of National Parliament briefed about parliament history, architectural philosophy and different wings of secretariat. The visit was ended by refreshment at the lakeside inside parliament house. The delegates also met with Mr. A K M Enamul Hoque Shameem,MP, Hon’ble Deputy Minister, Ministry of Water Resources, Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh and Founder, President and Chairman of Port City International University at his office. He expressed satisfaction about the initiatives of the dept. regarding the arrangement of fieldworks to provide quality education to the students. With the cordial cooperation and guidance of Mr. Mohammad Quamrul Ahsan Talukder, Personal Secretary( Deputy secretary) of Deputy Minister, Ministry of Water Resources, Ms. Dilruba Akter, Chairman, Mr. Jewel Das, Senior Lecturer, Mr. Sana Ulla Hasan and Mr. Prashanta Kumar Shill, Lecturers of the dept. guided the students through the visit.
