PCIU Journalism students visits Chittagong War Cemetery

Student’s of 18th batch of the department Journalism and Media Studies visited Chittagong War Cemetery. Thirty students along with one faculty member participated the visit program. It was a field trip as part of Bangladesh Studies course conducted by Mr. Sanaulla Hasan, lecturer of the department, who also supervised the whole trip.

During the visit Sanaulla Hasan discussed the background of World War II and its consequences before the students. He also described the global scenario of that time.

Relevantly, this cemetery was established to show the honor for the soldiers and others who died in World War II. The cemetery was created by the British Army, and there were originally about 400 burials. Graves have since been transferred to this cemetery from the Lushai Hills (Assam) and other isolated sites.
