A daylong workshop on “Machine Learning” was organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering on August 3, 2019. All faculty members and registered students were present there. The program was presided over and inaugurated by Mr. Sowmitra Das, Chairman, dept. of CSE, PCIU. Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Vice Chancellor, Port City International University was the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony and emphasized on the importance of Machine Learning in his welcome speech. Honorable Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. MD. Fashiul Alam and Co-ordinator, dept. of CSE, PCIU & Professor, Dept. of CSE, University of Chittagong Muhammad Anwarul Azim were present as Special Guest. Mr. Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan, Lecturer, Dept. of CSE, was the resource person of the workshop. A floral reception has been given to the resource person and a memento crest was handed over by the honorable vice chancellor. Total 50 registered students participated the workshop. The workshop was divided into two sessions which comprised of discussion on Machine Learning, and practical session with Python programming. Both sessions were conducted by Mr. Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan in which he had given his valuable speech on Classification, Clustering, Regression, Supervised learning and Unsupervised learning. He provided basic idea about different classification algorithms and instructed students practically to implement ANN, K-means and use WEKA. The resource person also shared his insight on job perspective of Machine Learning field. The workshop ended with everyone’s successful participation and honorable Chairman of department of CSE, Mr. Sowmitra Das thanked every students and guests for their active participation and presence.
