Journalism dept. unveiled 2nd edition of Songjog magazine

Department of Journalism and Media Studies unveiled the 2nd edition of wall magazine named ‘Songjog’ (Connectivity) on the occasion of national mourning day. Prof. Dr. Md. Nural Anwar, Honorable vice chancellor of the university inaugurated the unveiling ceremony.

Students of the 10th and 11th batch of the same department accomplished the magazine oriented functions as part of their course related practical work. Wall magazine was ornamented by various writings on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with special reference to 15th August 1975, as well as national and global achievements of Bangladesh were placed in the magazine. Besides, issues related to history, arts and culture, technology and generation, progress and prospects of Bangladesh were also framed.

In the inauguration speech, Vice Chancellor said, magazine publishing work will develop the artistic and creative knowledge of the students. They will be capable enough to show their caliber at their workstation as well. Appreciating students for this creative work Chairperson of the department Ms. Dilruba Akter said, she will keep her effort to continue this special supplement in future in order to enrich students’ practical knowledge and aesthetic sense.

Among others respective Deans of different faculties, Dr. Mohammad  Sahid Ullah, Coordinator of the PCIU Journalism department and Professor of Communication & Journalism, University of Chittagong, , Registrar, Chairmen of different dept., students’ Welfare Advisor, faculty members along with students of journalism department were present in the programme.
