Journalism department’s Press visit at ‘Dainik Purbokone’

Department of Journalism and Media Studies of PCIU visited the `Dainik Purbokone’ on 5th December, 2019 .The inspection, supervised by Dilruba Akter, Chairman of the dept., was organized in order to achieve practical knowledge about the activities of print media.

Dr. Ramizuddin Chowdhury, Editor of Dainik Purbokone, greeted them warmly. Journalism dept. also conveyed floral reception to the `Purbokone’ family. Saiful Alam, senior reporter of dainik Purbokone discussed about reporter’s responsibilities, developing news source techniques and ethical practice in reporting with the students. Dr. Ramizuddin Chowdhury, Editor of the newspaper emphasized on learning dimensional concept on journalism through national and international media. Sarwar Ahmad, staff reporter of Dainik Purbokone briefed about historical background of the newspaper to the students.

He also informed the students concisely about newspaper publication related activities- printing press, news and editing desk, preparing plate, page make-up, online desk, studio, archives etc and showed the students all of the instruments of Purbokoe press. At the end of our visit, Chairman of the dept. showed gratitude to Dainik Purbokone with floral reception. Students were highly encouraged to the journalistic career through this educational tour.
