On March 04, 2023, the Department of Civil Engineering at Port City International University hosted the 'CENtroid 2023' an inter-university mechanics olympiad. With about 100 students from various universities in Chattogram participated in the olympiad, the competition was a major success. The event was graced by distinguished guests, Honorable Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Nural Anwar, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Ganesh Chandra Ray, Resource Person, Prof. Dr. Sudip Kumar Pal, Coordinator of Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU, Invited Guest, Timothy Stewart Cella, Resident Track Engineer, Dohazari Cox’s Bazar Railway Project, Registrar, Md. Obaydur Rahman, Controller of Examination, Md. Salim Hossain. Chair of the session, Md. Jahedul Alam, Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering, PCIU, along with other esteemed faculty members conducted the event. The participants were challenged with quizzes that tested their skills and knowledge in mechanics. At the end of the event, certificates, medals, and prize money were distributed among the winners as a reward for their exceptional performance.
