The Department of Journalism & Media Studies arranged a media visit to Dainik Purbokone office for JRN 28 and JRN 29 batch on December 28, 2024, in association with Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Port City International University (PCIU).  Ms. Dilruba Akter, Assistant Professor of the department supervised the visit with a view to providing practical knowledge about media management, newspaper and online page design as a part of practical assignment of Media Management and Newspaper display course. 

City editor, Mr. Nowser Ali Khan, and Chief Reporter, Mr. Saiful Alam welcomed the PCIU delegates along with a team from Dainik Purbokone, showcasing a documentary on the journey of a media company, discussed the strategies and challenges of newspaper and online media platforms. Besides, students also learned the aesthetic of page makeup, online news writing techniques, technical aspects of online studio, factors influencing circulation and advertisement, plate making and publication procedure at Dainik Purbokone press.

Along with others, Mrs. Taslima Akter Erin, lecturer and assistant proctor, PCIU, Mr. Hasnat Morshed, News Editor, Mr. Mohammed Zilani, Managing Director, Mr. Ehsanul Haque, Newsroom Editor (Purbokone online) and Staff reporters Mr. Sarowar Ahmad, Mr. Imran Bin Sobur, and Mr. Arafat Bin Hasan were present and shared various aspects of media. Students’ comprehension of media management, newspaper design and publication was enhanced by this practical experience, which connected academic knowledge with practical applications.
