Oath Taking ceremony of PCIU Journalism Alumni Association (PJAA) held
The convening committee of PCIU Journalism Alumni Association (PJAA) organized the pledge- taking ceremony of its elected first executive committee on July 12, 2025, at the PCIU auditorium. The event was presided over by Mr. Partha Protim Nandy, convener of PJAA Adhoc committee and oath-taking was administered by Mr. Md. Obaydur Rahman, Registrar, PCIU, and Chief Election Commissioner of the PJAA election 2025. The ceremony, anchored by Alumnus Mr. Yasir Silmy, Chairman of Journalism & Media Studies, BGC Trust University. The program was graced by Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Ray, Honourable Treasurer of the university, as chief guest. The convening committee convener, Mr. Partha Protim Nandy and member secretary, Mr. Sarwar Kamal, officially handed over the organization’s responsibility to the new leadership. Mr. Imran Bin Sobur as president and Mr. Sarowar Ahmad as general Secretary, who are working as staff reporters of The Daily Purbokone, took oath at the event including eleven elected members of the executive committee. Among other notable guests, the controller of examination, proctor, chairmen of different departments, teachers of Journalism & Media Studies department, alumni, members of PCIU media club and other students were also present at the event. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ganesh Chandra Ray emphasized how important journalism students are for reflecting positive aspects of society through objective reporting. Ms. Dilruba Akter, chairman of the department expressed optimism that the newly elected members of PJAA would lead the association with dedication and integrity to enrich the department and alumni. Other guests also congratulated the committee members and expressed good wishes to PJAA at their speeches.
